Sarah Ann Perry please help

Hello all

I am searching for my maternal great-grandmother, Sarah Ann Perry.

Born 26 Jul 1892 according to the 1939 England and Wales register when she was living at 12 Melnott St, Rochdale with her husband Harry Edge, a labourer, who was born 1 Aug 1885 - possibly in Salford,  Lancashire, England and I have followed that family line for him, but I have also found a 1911 census with his same marriage address, that says he was born in Staffordshire.


I have her bought her marriage cert to her husband Harry Edge and it states her father was John Perry, Occupation: Coal Miner. I've uploaded that to my publicly viewable "jane sharp" ancestry tree.

The details on the marriage are:

NAME: Sarah Perry. AGE: 23. CONDITION: Spinster. OCCUPATION: Domestic Servant. ADDRESS: 562 Oldham Rd. FATHER: John Perry. OCCUPATION: Coal Miner.

NAME: Harry Edge. AGE: 27. CONDITION: Bachelor. OCCUPATION: Outdoors Labourer. 562 Oldham Rd Rochdale. FATHER: John Edge: Blacksmith Journeyman.

She died 3 Oct 1957 in Littleborough, Lancashire. I have also bought the death certificate. Her last address was also 12 Melnott St, her husband Harry Edge, a labourer, was the informant. Her name on the death certificate is Sarah Ann Perry aged 65, in 1957.

Can you please help ? keeping in mind her date of birth is: 26 Jul 1892

I'd really appreciate it as my mum passed away a couple of years ago so I can't find anything out about that side of my family. I do know for certain that my Maternal Grandmother's name was Ada Edge b in August 1919 and have traced that back to Harry Edge and Sarah Ann Perry. And I know for sure my mum said her maternal grandmothers name was Sarah Ann.

keeping in mind her date of birth is: 26 Jul 1892

Dates of birth did not have the significance back then that we give to them,

Quite often the date in 1939 turns out to be incorrect.

Frequently the day and month are right but the year is wrong

So don’t be too bound by that birth date.

Before she died, my Mum told me that her grandmother's name was Sarah Ann.

Also it says Sarah A Perry on the death index, and Sarah Ann Perry on the full death certificate I've got which has her husband's name Harry Edge and her address at 12 Melnott St Rochdale.

I've lived in Australia all my life and unfortunately I really don't know much about my mum's family. There were a lot of problems and secrets.
