Informant on birth certificate

My grandmother gave birth out of  wedlock to a boy in 1905, her occupation is Barmaid and address is shown as  28, Gladstone Road Bordesley, but the birth is listed as 1, Union Road,
Erdington, the informant is a Geoff Lloyd also of 1 Union Road Erdington, so I am wondering whether he was  the father /and why she gave birth there, I can't find any trace of a Geoffrey Lloyd in 1901 or 1911.
She did keep her son and went on to marry in 1909,so who is Geoff Lloyd ?

A Google search suggests that 1 Union Road was actually the address of Aston Workhouse. I wonder if Geoffrey LLoyd was the master of the workhouse - a number of newspaper articles in the newspaper archive indicate that a Mr Lloyd was master in the 1900's. There is actually a letter i the Hull Daily Mail in February 1908 from a Geo. W LLoyd " Master of the Aston Union Workhouse, Birmingham".
