Have you checked VRs to see who was living at the addresses mentioned?

Although Thomas is said to be deceased on William's marriage, he may not have had contact with his father & assumed he was deceased?

Have you looked at this one...

MCADAM THOMAS 86 - 1959 - 594/ 59 Girvan (Ayr)

Annie
South Uist, Inverness-shire, Scotland:- Bowie, Campbell, Cumming, Currie

Ireland:- Cullen, Flannigan (Derry), Donahoe/Donaghue (variants) (Cork), McCrate (Tipperary), Mellon, Tol(l)and (Donegal & Tyrone)

Newcastle-on-Tyne/Durham (Northumberland):- Harrison, Jude, Kemp, Lunn, Mellon, Robson, Stirling

Kettering, Northampton:- MacKinnon

Canada:- Callaghan, Cumming, MacPhee

It may be an idea to list the entries you've already checked & dismissed?

You seem to have missed my question on addresses which are often a help in research.

The reason I mentioned the VRs was, there may be a relation who was the 'Occupant' at the time which may lead you elsewhere in your search for Thomas?
The thing with VRs is, they only list the occupant, not lodgers i.e. it's difficult to know who was there & your only clue at this time is the address where William married from.

Tazzy, from a question raised earlier, have you confirmed an entry for William in 1911? If so, what where the details from that?

Yes, I've checked the 1911 census on Scotlands People but no luck there
