Aah - FS have his birthyear as 1831 but Ancestry as 1841.  1871 image shows him as 40

His occ is difficult to read.  First word does look like fireman but can’t make out second word.  Third word is Jack

If it is him - the 1874 marriage cert should show him as a widower

the one in West Bromwich is a carpenter. On his 1854 marriage, his father is William Weaver, joiner.

So possibly the one baptised 21 Feb 1831 son of William the labourer.

There is a possible John weaver in 1871 in penarth, he is a fireman.   railway? Promotion to driver often involved a move.

Mike

Alas Penarth did not get a railway until  later than 1871, but close to cardiff which did have railways

I seem to recall that the Cardiff John Weaver in 1871 his wife from memory I couldn’t find a death between 1871-1874 so I’d ruled him out  :-\

As he's not the son of William the joiner, here's the family of William the labourer in 1841
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M77H-1LM

other children baptised to the couple in Montgomery
4 April 1817 Edward, William noted as waggoner
30 May 1819 Jane

1851 https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGDS-PV1

William the joiner has remarried by 1851 to a Catherine, & there's a monumental inscription which must then be for William the labourer. William died 15 August 1854 aged 77 and wife Ann died 8 Nov 1867 aged 79.

There's a baptism for a John, son of William (labourer) and Ann, of the same address as 1841 census, on 21 Feb 1831
