Help with ship name in 1891
« on: Thursday 11 February 21 22:56 GMT (UK) »
My ancestor, Bonawentura ("Ben") Paluchowski, immigrated to the U.S. in 1891. He was born in Mielec (incorrectly spelled Mellecz on his naturalisation record). The record lists the ship name as Perzshin, but I've never been able to find a ship by this name.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wonder if it should read "Persian"?

Hi Inor

Not a direct help with the ships name but if your ancestor sailed from Bremen he would have sailed with Lloyd Oelrichs & Co. and the link below is to a booklet describing their services and travel details which might be of interest -

Sailings During the Traveling Season. The North German Lloyd Steamship Co. (Issued by Oelrichs & Co., New York, no date, circa 1891-1892.)

Please don't use my restores without my permission - thankyou. 😎

Thank you Treetotal and heywood for your suggestions, which I appreciate.
Unfortunately I've never found a ship named "Persian" or "Persia" sailing from Bremen to New York in 1891. The search goes on.

Regards,
inor

 :) :)

As usual-I have questions and no help.

For background:
1 Where did you find the document shown please?

2 Is Bonawentura ("Ben") Paluchowski the fellow in Hazleton Penn. on (1920-1940)US census?

I'll leave it at that for now.

Maureen

That is the one I was looking at Maureen. In 1920, immigration year is given as 1895.
I have looked for the immigration record but not found one yet.
