the Mary who married William Hodall was baptised Boulter. Checking the marriage more closely, it is Boulter although transcribed as Boulton.

(St Mary Magdelen Bermondsey between 1788 and 1802). Baptisms of children.
In all the entries Henry is a tanner.

There are many trees on Ancestry that have details on Henry Boulton and Alice , some seem to be guesswork.
They might be worth looking at and checking for yourself.

Thank you wilcoxon and osprey,

So these people are Boulter and not Boulton. And so there appears to be no records of the name Boulton in Radnorshire in the last half of the eighteenth century apart from Ann born 1784 Nantmel, Radnorshire, dau Ann and Henry. However I now wonder if this is just a mis-transcription of Boulter?

You seem to have access to original records as well as transcriptions. Are these readily available online? If so which sites? thanks.

thanks very much for all your help. And yes he was a tanner but then ha became a seedsman around time his wife died.

Regards,

Glenn
