Johnson, James B1832, Beeston Sherringham.
« on: Saturday 13 February 21 17:23 GMT (UK) »
Hello
Am new to this site so please be gentle with me!!

I am trying to fins details of my great x3 uncle JAMES JOHNSON.

Info I have so far is:
Father: Thomas B1797
Mother: Ann (either thirsby/saxby/sarsby)
Siblings: Robert b1830 then James b1832, Hannah b1834 & Edmond b1840 d1858 All sheringham
Thomas was previously married to Mary maria parsons with whom he had 3 daughters:
Mary Ann 1820 - 1901, Harriet 1823 - 1850 & Sarah Ann B1825

As far as I have found so far, James can be found on the census of 1841 and 1851 but then I cannot find anything. There is nothing on later censuses.

James father was a fish seller & Agricultural labourer and his mothers father (Antony Sarsby) was also a fisherman so I wondered if he might have taken a place on a fishing boat but I have zero idea how to find out.

Any ideas please cos I am stumped and I dont like being stumped!!
Stay safe
Caroline

Thanks for this. I don’t think this is my James as my James was on the 1851 census, living at home and working as an agricultural labourer.
Much appreciated though

Where would I be able to see this please? I would like to see when he joined the navy as he was on 1851 census as living at home and working as an agricultural labourer.
Thank you, I appreciate your time and effort
