The Kāpiti US Marines Trust
This new website commemorates the US Marines who were based at Paekākāriki north of Wellington during 1942-44. Among other features there is a photograph collection, a Finding Your Marine guide for genealogists and a guide to the former base with three former Marines’ camp sites, a restored Marines’ hut, a museum exhibition and a memorial to 10 sailors who drowned off the coast.

The Golden Age of New Zealand Flying Boats.
Random House 1997.
Discusses the role of the flying boat (the Walrus, Catalina, Sunderland, Auster and others) in New Zealand commercial and military service. Includes a plentiful supply of photographs, diagrams and recollections. The appendices cover aircraft technical details; history of selected aircraft; colours and markings for RNZAF flying boats, wartime conversion of TEAL boats; and Catalina Dumbo (sea rescue) missions of No. 6 Squadron RNZAF between 1943-45 in the Pacific; and names of Catalina ferry crews.

Focused on the experiences of New Zealanders serving in the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) during World War II, this book covers the formation and operational history of the unit and in several appendices list the New Zealand Roll Honour for the unit; Commanders; Honours and awards to New Zealanders; Roll of New Zealand Officers; Nominal Roll of New Zealanders serving in the LRDG; Patrol formation and personnel; New Zealand Patrol truck names (W, T and R Patrols); and lists the members of T1 Patrol who participated in the Barce Raid of September 1942.

Bearded Brigands. The legendary Long Range Desert Group in the diaries and photographs of Trooper Frank JOPLING.

Frank Jopling (1913-1987) served in the Western Desert in the Long Range Patrol, later the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG). He kept a detailed daily journal of his experiences which ended with his capture during the raid on Barce in September 1942. Two of the appendices list the names of T Patrol trucks and the members of T, T1 and T2 Patrols whom Frank JOPLING served with between July 1940 and 1942.

New Zealand Medal to Colonials. Detailed medal rolls of officers and men who received the New Zealand Medal for service in the New Zealand Wars 1845-1872. (10th ed.)
