Holdsworth of Tetford

Mary Cadney Holdsworth was the granddaughter of my 4th great grandfather John Holdsworth. I'm descended through her husband Peter's brother, John Carter Holdsworth.

Thanks for this thread. As far as I've been able to work out, Peter and John's grandfather was a Thomas Holdsworth (1725-1773) who married Sarah Webster (1740-) but although I think Thomas' mother was an Ann Gillman, I haven't got further back than that, yet.

I must admit to some confusion - I don't know of and cannot find a place called Tetford in Surrey.  There is a village of that name in Lincolnshire.

Did you mean Tilford?
