Hi so ive been searching my family for a while but seem to be getting confuced about there history ino my great nan rachel buckland was a gypsie and that my nan anne cousins was born in a carvan on a field down rowely green lane arkley barnet but where would i find this documented i also seem to be stuck on with my great nan polly buckland spouce william page as her children kept buckland name

Would this be Polly Buckland born 1909?
If so she appears to be on the 1939 register with a William Page living in suitable accommodation. not allowed to give details of the 1939 but it would appear that they did nt marry so children would have mothers maiden name.

I've now discovered that Rachel died in 1993, born in 1930.

Her DOB is given as 16th November 1930 on Find My Past.

Hi all of them have past accept my nan polly moved into a home later in her like my mum has told me this my nan has told me her and her brother david was born in a caravan but rachel then got a house and continued to have the other children she said that her mother always told her she didnt want that life for her and her siblings and that they should go to school and work hard and live well rachel buckland/cousins 1930-1993 polly buckland 1910-1986

Hmm, I think this is going to be difficult.  I have found Polly's death

BUCKLAND, POLLY       1910 
GRO Reference:  DOR  Q3/1986 in BARNET  (2191A)  Volume 11  Page 196

Although it gives her year of birth as 1910 this is more than likely to be Polly.  Date of birth on Find My Past is given as 29th October 1910. 

If her birth was registered it should appear in the December quarter of 1909.  If I try and find her birth using Polly as her first name, nothing appears.  This either means that her birth wasn't registered or Polly was not her given name but a nickname.

Do you know anything at all about Polly other than she lived with William Page and didn't appear to marry him?
