Im trying to trace the parents of William Black from Markethill, amaugh Northern Ireland. He was born in 1829 and married Fanny Anderson whos parentage i also dont know. They moved to Gateshead England. They are my gt gt Grandparents.
I would appreciate any help.

I think your couple married in Newcastle on Tyne. There’s a marriage listed there in Apr – Jun 1852 Volume 10b page 185 which contains both names. That certificate should give you their fathers names and occupations which may help trace them in Ireland. Knowing their religious denomination will also help as you will be reliant on church records if tracing their births.

Online tree at Ancestry names Luke as William's father, but no name for Fanny (Margaret)'s father.  They provide a death year of 1864 for Luke, and there is an entry for Banbridge for Luke Black aged 64 in 1864.

Marriage perhaps of interest are a Harriet Black who married a Matthew Black in 1853 in Mullabrack.  Her father is given as Luke. Place of residence given as Lattery.
