However, I checked again and no baptisms for a Thomas Pritchard/alternatives in the  Corwen/Llantysilio area  1780 +/- 10   One in Ruabon is the closest.

Do you mean that you match with people from Denbighshire and Caernarfonshire and are they from your Pritchrd line via their trees?  What cMs are you getting with them?

I've got many matches with that area but they are from many different lines.

I follow the paper trails first.

i have not stopped trying to tie down the birth location of our Thomas Pritchard. including a y -dna test which wasn't helpful at all.
through my Autosomal matches. i have one twenty cms and one 17 cms matches to a Griffith Pritchard. born Llanarmon, Caernarvonshire.  Died 1796 Hendre Feinws, Fourcrosses and buried 2.9.1796 in the Parish Church Cemetery in Abererch. this going back five gen looks possible ?.and further matches to a lesser extent.
through this i have spent many hours searching for anyone "and still doing so" who may have moved from Caernarfonshire to Denbighshire, thinking of the slate mines in Caernarfon. also i now have full conformation that George b 1814 in Chirks wife Elizabeth Roberts b Llandysilio.denbighshire.wales. this confirmed by a very good match with a brother of hers. this family side of the tree then goes back around the villages in Corwen. that is why i considered that Thomas may have been from around that area. i must add to and what is a little confusing there are matches in and around Alberbury Shropshire. it seems the more searching i do the more confused i become. maybe it just is Ruabon. and i do have a slight match with an Elizabeth from there too.sorry for the long drawl. but only fair to explain too. thank.brian
