Assistance Required to find a Couple of Burial Records in Blyth Please!
« on: Monday 15 February 21 14:34 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

I am trying to locate the burial place of my 3x gt grandparents Francis & Ann Jane Spink (Nee' Stephenson).

Francis Spink (1822-1894) died on 24th Sept 1894 at 52, Aldborough Street, Waterloo, Blyth. I have found the following newspaper announcement regarding both his death & burial:

Blyth Bi-Weekly News & Wansbeck Telegraph, Tuesday 25th Sept 1894.

Waterloo, 52 Aldborough Street, on the 24th
inst. Francis Spink, aged 73 years.
To be interred Thursday at Blyth
Cemetery. Lift at 2 o'clock. Friends
please accept this (the only) intimation.

I have as yet to locate a burial record for Francis, although from the above newspaper report the burial may have taken place on Thursday 27th Sept 1894.

Anne Jane Spink (1821-1896) died on 25th March 1896, at I think Folly Road, Blyth (now Park Road), I don't have the death certs to hand at present. She definitely died in Blyth though. I have been unable to locate either a burial record or a mention in the local newspapers regarding her death.

Which cemetery was/is Blyth Cemetery? I am only aware of Blyth Links Cemetery & Cowpen Cemetery, is there another or is it one of those two?

Many thanks in advance

Kind regards

David

Many thanks indeed for your replies, very much appreciated.

Many thanks for the list of other possible burial places & the memorial info for Ann Jane Spink, very much appreciated indeed!

Apologies for non response until now, but had taken a break/hiatus from family research, happily back now though!

My thanks again.
