Decipher paragraph - sale of copyhold 1600
« on: Tuesday 16 February 21 20:27 GMT (UK) »
Help needed deciphering this paragraph, please.
It's on the reverse of the agreement, and is presumably the "approval" of the sale by the Steward of the Dean & Chapter of Carlisle Cathedral.
All I can make out is:
I have seen --------- this Deede and Grant -----ers
the same ---------- that the within named Will/m a
Grayme at the next courte to be holden in Wetherall
do satisfie ---- the said Deane & Chapter for their
fyne & ----rent there And hereunto have Sett to my name
   Tho: Salkeld

I have seene & p(er)[used?] this deede and have allowed
The same, p(ro)vided that the w(it)hin named Will(ia)m
Grayme at the next Courte to be holden in Wetherelle
do satisfye them the said Deane & Chapter for their
fyne due unto them. And hereunto have sett to my name

Still working on that word on the first line.
There are 2 words here that start with a ‘P’, which is an abbreviation for ‘per’, or ‘pro, or ‘pre’.

The ‘a’ after William’s name at the end of  the line is just a ‘filler’ squiggle.

I had another go at that word on the first line while you were replying.
Not 100% convinced, but it would seem to make sense.

Thanks again, Goldie - & GR.
It's amazing how clear a word becomes once someone has transcribed it correctly, e.g. "allowed" on the first line, which has been puzzling me for ages.
