BEATRICE J WATKINS
« on: Friday 19 February 21 11:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi can anyone help?. I am researching the Watkins family shown on the 1901 census as living at Abersychan, Monmouthshire. the head of the family is George Henry Watkins born 1869 Forest of Dean married to Anna Maria Asland ? born circa 1872 at Varteg Monmouthshire. I am told there were 13 children born to them, i think i have found eleven of them born between 1893-1915.
The 1911 census shows them to be have been married for 18 years, children still alive 11 and 2 have died. i have not been able to establish who the dead children were also the 1901 census shows Beatrice J Watkins aged 7 born Gardiffaith, Monmouthshire, she is not listed on the 1911 census and after that i lose here, i did think she married Herbert J Brewer in 1917 but that is a red herring.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction for Beatrice J Watkins and maybe a correct marriage.
Watkins is proving to be nearly as difficult as researching the Williams/Wilson families.
Very best

Ken

Use the Gro site to double-check Beatrice's birth registration,  and gather FULL name.

Then relate it here. Pauline

Have you considered the marriage of Beatrice Jane Watkins age 18 to James Hull on 2 May 1910 on Abersychan, Monmouthshire??   Her father was George Watkins - Collier

Marriage Mar qtr 1893
Anslow    Anna Maria
Watkins    George Henry
Pontypool    11a   158

She did not sign the marriage register so surname could be 'wrong' - her father was Thomas Morris (decd) and she was a spinster when she married George.  Image on F M P.

Children birth reg - mmn Anslow (Hanslow)
I have found 11 up to the 1911 census (I am still looking). there are others after the census

Beatrice Jane 1894 (mmn Hanslow)
John Thomas 1895 (mmn Hanslow)
Eunice Charlotte 1897

Thank you one and all for your support, the marriage to Hull looks very interesting as her mother was born at Varteg Hill and the age is correct. re marriage Rosie your info seems to be bang on.
I very much appreciate you all taking the trouble in coming back to me.

Huge thanks

Ken

..... children still alive 11 and 2 have died.

That is not what is recorded on the census record.  Rosie99 has listed all their children up to 1911.

Hi All. Again many thanks. Perhaps someone can put me right for  information on people living in the Aberscyhan/Varteg area and Llanhilleth do I search the district of Pontypool or Newport M?
Eunice Charlotte Watkins of Llanhilleth married James Williams July 4th 1914 data on Newport M district.

Very best
