Something to think about whilst waiting for bereavement offices to open.
If it was my problem I would get a copy of the Death Certificate to see who registered the death, relative, carer, hospital etc.. - Registered by the care home, record no longer available.

Where was he born, did he come from Leeds or could he have been transported to his birthplace for burial?

Check obituaries in YEP, although these records are getting fewer and fewer over the years as people rely on the internet these days. - No records shown.

The LGI would have made a record of who collected his body but perhaps the records would take a bit of finding after all this time.

If no relatives were about, which it sounds like, his body may have been donated to medical science.

Just a few of my thoughts.

Brian,

It looks as though Lisa has been online since you posted your reminder. It is a pity there is no response for your efforts. Let’s hope she comes back soon.

As for the death certificate, see my reply #1.

The owner of the family tree has been online a few days ago.

Regards
Heywood

It's o'k, had a pm today advising what steps she has taken to obtain information!
We know know that care home records not available, nothing in the Yorkshire press.
Still to locate birth location, possible that funeral/burial in same location.
