Batchelor, Edward d.1936
« on: Saturday 20 February 21 15:52 GMT (UK) »
Looking for his parents and dob

I know that his father was also called Edward and died before 1893.
I do not have his mother's name
I do not have a dob for Edward, but his gravestone says he was 69 when he died, in Bristol
The GRO has been unable to find a birth cert 1867-1871.
He lived in Bristol and Bradford upon Avon
He married Florence Kate Potter in 1893
There are three children: Reginald, Vera & Margery

Presumably you have his marriage certificate, what information did it give for him and who were the witnesses.  ADDED What was his fathers occupation or was it just saying deceased

What place of birth did he give on census?  Presume you have him on census after marriage.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

There are several registered between those dates so I wonder what they couldn't find - did you ask them to specifically look for one with a father Edward?

Possibly a red herring but in 1881 Mary Blackmore is at the same address as 1891, head of house is Elizabeth Holbrook.  There is also an Edward Barber staying there, nephew of Elizabeth -age 14 bn Bristol.  I can't see that Edward on any other census.  There is some strange writing in the age column against his name on that census.

Just seen your post Millie  ;D
