I am interested in finding if my wade family in Rotherhide in Surrey London (Robert Wade 1745-1807)
Who’s father was John Wade 1745 .Originally came from Prince Risborough Buckinghamshire .
I seem to be confused and cannot work out if this is the same family.

Wade was a very common name in and around SE London so it seems a bit unlikely they came from Buckinghamshire, but stranger things have happened. Have you "assembled" your Rotherhithe family and found no locally-baptised suitably-aged John?  Probably looking too far back for DNA to be of help.

The name Wade appears in 1563 in St Mary's, Princes Risborough.

1817 is the last time the name Wade is mentioned, in St Mary's parish register. (Up to 1901)

Father - John Wade 1745..........How can this be the same age as his son Robert.?

Taken from BucksFHS - St, Mary's, Princes Risborough. PR's CD Transcripts. 1561 - 1901.

My mistake John Wade 1716.
I have found only one possible John Wade baptized in Middlesex same year .
Looking on Ancestry on family trees ,all trees with the same family as mine have John coming from Prince Risborough.
That’s why I’m trying to find if it’s possible the change to London .Thank you 😊

Please dont just copy Anc Trees as the are often wrong.

Eg one has Robert marrying Dorset to Mary Blake, the Marriage was in London.

Also they have his supposed Parents marrying 29 May 1739 • Buckinghamshire, England

But a JOHN/ELIZABETH Wade bap a Daug ELIZA 30 Apr 1739 St Andrew, Holborn, Camden, London

So that doesnt add up for a start.

Just going with bapt above church St Andrew we have to John/Elizabeth;
Eliza 30 April 1739
John 13 Oct 1742
Robert 25 Sep 1745
John 3 Jul 1748

Trish :)

I have Mary Blake married to Robert Wade.
Seems strange family of John in Buckinghamshire.
I think the Holborn area  must be the right family .Thankyou for baptism dates.Jill.

Another tree has John Wade marrying Elizabeth Stevens in Buckinghamshire.

In deed it was, but at St Mary's, P. Risborough, Bucks.

Marriage - 29 May 1739.  by Banns
                       John WADE otp
                       Elizabeth STEVENS otp

Both die between 1741 - 1755. Several burials for John & Elizabeth between those dates.  No Robert baptised to them.

As you have settled on the London Wades, I'll leave it there.

Steve. :)
