Death Certificate Scotland 1855
« on: Sunday 21 February 21 22:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi just wondering if anyone can decipher the word(s) above the list of children's names on my GGG grandfather's death certificate?

I have a suspicion but don't want to affect your thinking.

Also, when listing kids of a deceased person, did they only include living kids or ?

Thanks,

Barbara

Sorry, impossible to read - can you please post an image just of the relevant part at a better resolution? It looks like cerebral something, but can't be sure and can't make out the rest due to the poor quality of the image.

I've seen listings for alive and dead offspring. Remember the listing is only as good as the knowledge of the informant.

Ah, that's what I was thinking as well.  I'm pretty sure he married a 2nd time, according to census records.  These four kids were from his first wife. Don't know if he had any with 2nd wife.

Also, these four kids are the only ones who were still living in 1855 but I'm pretty sure they had at least one other daughter who died in 1849 and she is not listed.

Thanks, it's the word/phrase above the names that I can't read.

I tried posting a full size image but it wouldn't post.  I had to keep shrinking it until it would fit.  IMO. (500kb is too small...)
