Telegram from queen

My GG grandmother Hannah Turner maiden name Hodgkins, b1862 Staffordshire, d1960 died in Leicester, I know she received a telegram on her 100th birthday.  I remember seeing a paper cutting about it. Can anyone throw any light onto the cutting.

You say she was born in 1862- so would have been 100 in 1962.

And yet she died in 1960.

The Queen wouldn't have sent a telegram to her if she'd already died?

If she was living in Staffs in 1939 she was born 1862 but that doesn't mean she reached 100.  There is a 1955 death in Staffs

There is no Leics death of a 100yr +

freebmd has a Hannah Hodgkins birth in March qtr 1863 Dudley.  If she was born late Nov/Dec 1862 it could be her birth reg but there is no Hodgkins marriage to a Turner unless she married more than once

It could have been for a Dimond Wedding anniversary 60 years. It would have to have been applied for, anniversary telegrams, now cards, are not sent automatically like 100th Birthdays.

So their 60th would have been 1941 but George died before 1939
