There’s this one in 1885

Rimutaka, arriving Wellington July from London via Auckland, but seems odd they would be getting off there if he went gum digging.
But possible. Timing is good for marriage mid May

According to the headstone inscription he arrived in New Zealand in 1885......

Not part of the brief but looking at the headstone inscription above, there would appear to have been another marriage and that to Rewiti was the third not the second.

Not showing on Archway, but there is a William Hamilton Franks, who in 1911, applied for a Kauri Gum Licence.

In case Fresh Fields sees this, and is going to Auckland Archives,  the reference is BAAZ 4716 1a, Page 69, No: 1410.

It might be worthwhile to make an enquiry of the Far North Libraries as they may be able to find an obituary for William Hamilton Franks. These often made mention of the ship's name.
