Hi Heddwch. There were clearly two men with the name Harold Brown. Same first and last names but different middle name, rank, regiment, date of death etc. I have reason to believe that Sgt Harold Jackson Brown may have been born in Leicester; no idea how he came to be living in Cardiff. But thank you for your reply.

Mother Alice was still at that address when he died and received his medals. Father's address on sign up was given as Westbourne Place, Clifton, Bristol

He's buried in a freehold plot at Welford Road Cemetery, Leicester.  Consecrated section H 252

Harold Jackson Brown, buried 25 Feb 1921, aged 22.  Address given as The Hospital, Westmorland Street, London.

The plot appears to have previously been used for several common burials (George Ward in 1858 and then three infants with the surname Kilby 1877-1889), followed by what I assume is a brother, as both have the mmn Emmerson:

Bernard Stirtevand Brown buried 10 Mar 1904, aged 3 months of 85 Wilberforce Road, Leicester

EDIT: Just spotted that his burial is before the date of death you've given - Ive double checked my records (from a CD) and the date definitely says 25 Feb 1921.  Military records give his DoD as 19 Feb 1921.
MORGAN: Glamorgan, Durham, Ohio. DAVIS/DAVIES/DAVID: Glamorgan, Ohio.  GIBSON: Leicestershire, Durham, North Yorkshire.  RAIN/RAINE: Cumberland.  TAYLOR: North Yorks. BOURDAS: North Yorks. JEFFREYS: Worcestershire & Northumberland. FORBES: Berwickshire, CHEESMOND: Durham/Northumberland. WINTER: Durham/Northumberland. SNOWBALL: Durham.

That is a great result; absolutely no doubt that is the right man. The difference in dates was my typo; date of death was 19 Feb. Many thanks for your help; well done.
