First his Seamans "Pouch"

These are records relating to individual seamen filed together in a pouch. These documents may include application forms , certificates, identity cards, (most with a photograph of the seaman) cessation documents and notifications of death.

Also his form CRS10. This will record all the British ships he sailed on up to 1972 but may go beyond that. These records are stored alphabetically in blocks of 60 names

You would be advised to visit Kew yourself when they reopen to see these documents.
Be sure to quote his Dis A number R329896 in any correspondence.

Do we know the name of the ship which he was on at the time of his demise?
Hope this is what I remember is name of ship. ? Renard or similar sounding name.
