Drylands of Chatham, Kent
« on: Saturday 27 February 21 22:25 GMT (UK) »
Evening all,

Before I slip off to bed I have a request if someone can oblige.

I have the Christening/Baptism date for Mary Dryland b. 1788 bap. 16-Mar-1788 in Chatham Kent.

There appears to be a Mary buried 1782. Any relation

Could anyone kindly provide me with the actual dates please?

I'm also looking for John Dryland and Mary's marriage. Looks to be prior to 1784.

With John being a hair dresser would he have left a will ?
Would there be anything about him in print do you think ?

Thanks in advance,

Neil.

Free Reg has the burial of a Mary Dryland on 26 March 1782 at Rochester. Apparently the record is annotated with a note "R", with no clue as to the content of the note. Perhaps if you contacted the Free Reg transcribers, you may get more information.

That's the only marriage I can find as well. I have added to my tree.
Given the era, it seems a little far away.

However, Mary Dryland (1788-uk) did marry John Vail c.1827).
It's their childrens birth info that confirms John Dryland of Chatham as her father.

A MARY Dryland was buried 24 Oct 1817 Chatham age 62 (1755) so likely Johns Wife.

A THOMAS Dryland married there 12 Nov 1817 to a Mary NORTH a Widow of Saint Dunstan, Stepney, in the County of Middlesex.
(maybe Thomas 1784?)

Yep, I think the Thomas I'm looking at was married in 1817 married in Chatham. THere is one on An** that is Mary North in Chatham.

The Mary's burial in 1817 looks positive.

Excellent.
The Bond on Ancestry ?
Any chance of a link to that please ?

note: I've researched for years, but only had Ancestry a few weeks to still trying to navigate to find things lol
