Carter watrigant Family
« on: Monday 01 March 21 02:18 GMT (UK) »
I'm a bit curious about my Grandfathers uncle and his family.
Henry Sidney Carter died in the war 1917 fighting for New Zealand forces.( his brother lived here,Henry was living here doing farm work)  He embarked from Wellington NZ to Egypt May 1916.
In 1911 He was with his family in London in the census Wife Jeanne Catherine A Watrigant (possibly a married name as has older daughter of that name who was french born)
In  1917 he was in NZ and his family in Lowther rd, Bournemouth. Or Onslow Gardens, Wallington, Surrey. ( Both adresses on Next of kin records of army
Would anyone have ideas where to find more out? I imagine they separated, But ive been unable to find much on the family after this

The 1911 census give Jeanne's age as 49 so born c 1862 Belgium.
The GRO index has the birth registration for Henry Charles age 3 on the 1911 census and the mother's maiden name is Watrigant so the daughter Camille born c1896 France is most likely to be illegitimate
Henry Sidney and Jeanne's marriage registration has her name recorded 3 times. Two different spellings of the surname Watrigant and an alternative surname

Henry Sidney Carter
Jeanne C A Pissavy
Jeanne C A Watrigant
Jeanne C A Watrigaut

So where does the surname Pissavy fit in?
