More Handwriting on female sitter in Bath Studio
« on: Tuesday 02 March 21 17:52 GMT (UK) »
Hi there,

Iím not sure but this writing may be by the same hand that wrote Miss Rickwood & Mrs Oldham July 1883 on an earlier post from today. Can anyone decipher this one from Ď1875í from Bath. Iíve attached the earlier handwriting for comparison...

Regards john

I think it could be Mrs Doveton.

Not the wife from the 1871 marriage of Maria Jane HUDSON to John Chadwick DOVETON as she was having children in India.

So possibly the 1849 marriage of  Georgiana Cecilia YATES  Rev William Blake DOVETON. At Salcombe.

Several Doveton signatures on the marriage cert.

Added.. she would have been just 50 (baptised March 1825).  Does she look 50?

Side tracked to a friendís very interesting Norfolk families. MORGAN, PRATT, HORNOR, SUCKLING, GLEANE etc. And in London DOWNES, du CROZ, MORGAN (same MORGANs as the Norwich lot)

The 'M's & '8's are different so I would say not the same hand.

It looks to be the same hand as wrote 'Miss Rickwood', on the earlier photograph.

As I said then the  hand that wrote Mrs Oldham is much older.
