They match the birth and death dates I gleaned from freebmd and the GRO indexes.

William Henry and Susan were at South Street in 1891.

That's more new information.

I'd seen the freebmd/GRO index for that 74 year old James and set him to one side as the age was so far out. Being in the same cemetery as others in the family perhaps puts him back on the 'possible' list.

Edward is right. Burial details match for the Wandsworth death index I have.

William Henry is there too.  (added: sorry, you'd already spotted that )

I'd missed that one. Will have a look.

I'm thinking this John Thomas might be a match in 1871 for the 50 year old labourer living with Charles E. and Jane Green, at George Street, Sutton, Epsom (RG10/Pc.797/F.81/Pg.33). This John is recorded as "wife's father" in relation to head of household. Charles E. Green (33) is a baker born Kent, Bromley.

Looking again at William H. Thomas and Susan in 1881 at East Street, Epsom (RG11/Pc.761/F.138/Pg.26) I see they have a visitor. Albert S. Green is a 42 year old baker, born Kent, Bromley.

It looks like Jane Green in 1881 is working as a housemaid (married but no husband present) in the household of Arthur Allard at Reigate Road, Sutton, Epsom (RG11/Pc.758/F.18/Pg.30).

What I'm thinking here is that the John Thomas in 1871 with the Greens is the father of Susan Thomas named in the marriage to William Henry Thomas posted by Ladyhawk at reply #16.

At the risk of heading off on a tangent....... Are Charles E. Green and Albert S. Green the same man? Something odd here to come back to.

Just going through it all.

How strange about Albert/Charles. At least my Mary Ann managed to keep her own name consistent!

I think that clinches Susan and Jane as sisters.

Using your findagrave links I see Albert S Green is in plot B136 at Epsom. William Henry Thomas is in plot B136 too.

I've taken a chance and ordered the GRO certificate for the death of that 74 year old James. Would be good to count him in or out.
