Translation of Immigration Doc, please
« on: Friday 05 March 21 23:12 GMT (UK) »
My Swiss immigrants came to America. Would someone be able to give me a translation of this portion of their ticket? I guess it's in German?? Thank you!

Please redirect me if I should post in a different forum.

I am no German expert, but I'll have a go - using the dictionary I gave my father some decades ago:

The agency undertakes the conveyance of the named persons from Neuchatel via Havre and New York to Elkham Indiana, under the following conditions:
Passengers receive, at Agency cost, 3rd-class rail fare from Neuchatel to the port, free of all travel costs and gratuities.
All adult passengers are allowed 100 kilos luggage, and children aged 3 to 12 50 kilos.; on the ship 100 kilos each; on American routes 50 kilos per person.

Not very exciting really ...  :D

Many thanks, Andrew. Great job! You are right...not very exciting. However, it resolves an issue we had about whether that section had anything of value that should be included in a write up. Now, we can omit that section I think, which will save us space! Thanks again!
