Hi!

New to the forum so hopefully I'm not breaking any rules.

I am stuck with researching my 2nd great grandmother, Ada Skelland. She was born 25 JUL 1887 and married to William Henry Martin who worked in the Ifton Colliery.

I found marriage record to show they married in 1912 Oswestry and she is also listed in the 1939 register.

Other than that, I just can't find anything. My gran had told me she had worked at Duddleston Hall and she was from Limerick in Ireland originally, but I can't find any evidence of that.

If anyone can help with this I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

What information does her marriage certificate give for her father, where was she living and who were the witnesses.

In the 1901 Census she is a Boarder with a William and Mary Davies in Oswestry, aged 14 born Manchester.

Ada Skelland Sep 1886 Salford 8d 174 mmn Diggles

Baptism 4 August 1886 Salford, parents Robert and Sarah.

Is Ada's brother-Robert b 1889-also in Oswestry on the 1901 (as SKELLAN)? And with a DAVIES family?

The 1891(Ancestry) has the family as KELLAN. Father -Robert S.
