Hi all can anyone point me in the right direction I want to get my grandads service records he was a royal marine from Newcastle-upon-Tyne I need to find his service number does anyone have any ideas as to where to get this  thank you in advance his name was Charles edward jones born 1911

You do not need his service number to apply for his records but you do need his date of birth and  death certificate. 

Be aware there is a long wait at the moment for these records but still worth applying to get in the queue.
