Anders Christen Christensen b 6 Nov 1858 Horsens, Aalborg, Denemark
« on: Sunday 07 March 21 01:41 GMT (UK) »
Hello all,

I am researching Anders Christen Christensen b 6 Nov 1858 in Horsens, Aalborg Denmark to:
Christen Christensen,  b Dronninglund, Hjorring abt 1836
Hedevig Andersdatter b Laeso, Hjorring  abt 1833

I have Anders' birth record and wish to understand what it says - particularly that written after his mother's name & age? If any one could help that would be great - it's  something about  "......mand Anders K---- ---------huus" I think?

Background: I believe she was born Vestero on Laeso, dau of Anders Gaarn Clausen Bach & Louise Larsdatter Smed  - sister to my 2xgt grandfather.

I can't find a marriage for Christen & Hedevig - I have her in Hals on Laeso in 1850, unmarried.
I have Christen and Hedevig in Horsens, Kaer, Aalborg in 1860 then in Ulsted, Kaer in 1870 & 1880 and then Hedevig dies 1883 aged 50y.

The Ane Marie Christensdatter from the 1860 census doesn't seem to be Hedevig's child. This birth record states Karen Christensdatter:

Hi Ian,

That's fantastic - thank you so much!

I have no doubt this Hedevig is "my" 2 x Gt Aunt!  I have recently DNA matched to a descendant of her son Anders (who made his way to Viborg South Dakota, USA in 1881 with his wife and died there 1935) - so tracking him back to his birth & parents is great.

I notice on Ane Maria's birth record  the reference to the same "Anders Skyt i Rafnshuus (house of Rafn)"... and that bachelor Christian Christensen is the father of 33  yr old Karen Christendatter's child? So his illegitimate child it seems.

Thanks again as always!

Cheers
Anne

Cheers Ambly

Yes the child was illegitimate. The mother's name was recorded first.

Just one last record I picked up looking around:
Hedevig's moving-in record from Höelund in Øster Hassing Parish (where she was living before her marriage) to Horsens Parish in 1858.
