Presumably this is Patrick O'Hanlon, 20337. The medal rolls show that he disembarked in the Gallipoli theatre of war in August 1915. He would have been evacuated to Egypt in January 1916 (hence his presence in Suez) and then sent to France where he was killed on 1 July 1916.

I can't offer any information on the court-martial.

Shaun,
Many thanks.
That death date will help me identify the man and I will now try to find his birth.

If it helps his mother Rose was his sole legatee.
His father appears to be James.
Can see only 1 Rose O'Hanlon with a son Patrick in 1911:
O'Hanlon   Rose   44   Female   Head of Family   Roman Catholic
O'Hanlon   Rose   4   Female   Daughter   Roman Catholic
O'Hanlon   Annie   19   Female   Daughter   Roman Catholic
O'Hanlon   Patrick   17   Male   Son
+ 5 more siblings.

P O'Hanlon 20337 is bracketed Coatbridge in the Reported Killed section of Daily Record, Aug 24 1916, so was possibly from there. Others in list, all Royal Inniskilling, were bracketed Glasgow, Coatbridge, Lanark and Rutherglen.

JIM and SCOTSMUM.
Many thanks for placing this Patrick O'HANLON in the context of his family.
Very helpful indeed.

jim1 has suggested a family in Ireland. Based on my previous post and mention of Coatbridge, which is Scotland, there is this 1911 Census entry which is possibly a more likely candidate:

O'HANLON
PATRICK
1911
M
15
652/2 7/ 2
Coatbridge or Old Monkland
Lanark

only problem being, the likely matching entry for that Patrick, for 1901, is a Patrick, born 1896, living in Coatbridge with widowed mother Ellen and siblings.

As CWGC has
Quote
.     Son of Mrs. Rose O'Hanlon, of 47, Buchanan St., Coatbridge, Lanarkshire.
for Patrick 20337, I wonder if it is possible that Ellen was a Rose Ellen or if she and Patrick moved to Coatbridge after 1911 and have no links to the family group there in 1901 and 1911.

The Patrick O'Hanlon mentioned by Jim1 is my relative, but he was born in 1891 in Scotland and the family lived in Glasgow and Tobermory then moved back to Ireland and again returned to Scotland for a brief time then back to Dundalk, he is buried with his family in Dundalk.
