Kind regards

Welcome to Rootschat,

Try the Dearne Memorial Group website which covers a number of cemeteries in the area

https://www.cemeteries.org.uk/

There is a charge for accessing the details of their records

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your enquiry but I don’t have the names of the children. It was noticed on the 1911 census of my 2x great grandmother that 8 children had been born alive to the marriage years earlier but only 5 were still alive. We know one daughter died shortly after having a baby herself leaving two children we were not aware of. I wondered if it were possible to trace their deaths using only the parents names, they were Catholic  so feel sure the deaths would be registered somewhere in Barnsley.
Regards Dawn

Do you know the maiden name of the mother?  If you do you can search the GRO records using the family surname and the mother's maiden name. If you enter Barnsley in the Registration box that will narrow it down for you.
Ashford: Somerset, London
England: Devon, London, New Zealand
Holdway: Wiltshire
Hooper: Bristol, Somerset

Yes it was Egan although I have found her name under different spellings Agan, Hagen, Eagan......
They would have been born and died roughly between 1878 & 1880,   1884 & 1890 Possibly 1892 & 1896 it’s rather a puzzle!
Thank you Dee
