What Is This Occupation
« on: Tuesday 09 March 21 18:49 GMT (UK) »
The below entry appears on the UK Register of Duties Paid for Apprentices' Indentures in 1719.
My ancestor is in Somerset.
I'm trying to work out what the occupation is.
I have tried looking up various spellings and part of the words but am not having any luck.
Any suggestions are really appreciated.

I see Drug...maker(abbreviated to makr) Can't make out the 3 letters in the middle - looks like qet perhaps but can't think what that might stand for.

Welcome to RootsChat!  Could you please give us the name, so that we can look at the record for ourselves.  Sometimes "snips" can be confusing.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

The second part is an abbreviation of maker, the first part is drugget, a kind of cloth.
