Just reading an article in the Highland Family History Journal for May '20, "Donald Beaton the Great Victorian Gardener!" b. Strathconon 18 Mar'1802, his family hailed from Gairloch, but moved east to Kiltarlity, Beauly etc. His father also Donald Beaton a well known drover & cattle dealer.
Donald the gardener worked on many estates in England & was a friend of Darwin etc!

Bests,
Skoosh.
