How to find a butler in Harrogate

Rosie, have you found anyone else living at number 45? Just wondering if that might give a clue about the size of the household.

Yes, there are 2 households.  Got to stop for now Groceries have arrived

I have located 45 St Hildas Road, Harrogate on the 1939 register, but my person of interest isn't living there then. Instead there is a couple with a young child and perhaps a boarder or two. The record for the fifth person is officially closed.
In the electoral rolls, people are listed by street, and ETD and his wife are the only ones living at that address post-WW2. The neighbouring houses also seem to be small households, so I am assuming that it was not his place of work.
Maybe there are other local directories that might show his occupation? I will hunt around.

Oh, I hadn't seen that before. Lady Laura Douglas lived at Eden Hall in Kelso. I wonder if the Douglas family later moved to Harrogate. That's a good clue, ShaunJ, thanks! Harriet was only 57 when she died, if her birth year is correct on records, so she must have started young.
