This is gradually showing signs of theft.
I believe I’ve been a member for over 15 years and they automatically debit my account.
15-01-15 = 140.47€
16-01-16 = 159.78€
17-01-17 = 139.25€
14-01-18 = 136.91€ (£117)

The cost price variations are probably due to the £/€/$ exchange.
Not once have they EVER proposed a 50% reduction.  This is what I mean about automatic account debit.  Theft…, or economical with the truth.

How can it be theft - you have left automatic renewal turned on, so are giving them permission to take the money? They do send a reminder, so if you don't wish to renew, that is the time to cancel. It's only theft if you have cancelled, they have confirmed you've cancelled and then they take the money!

Groom..  Theft no…, but economical with the truth, yes.   Proof being that some people receive 50% discounts.

Sandra, you and the others are a hive of information, and to top it all, kindness over and above the call of duty.
As you say, I only hope the advice does not ruin it for the others.  As such, if Admin decides to eliminate this thread…, no problem.

Once again, thanks everyone for your help.
Kind Regards…, Iain.

Sandra…, thank you.
Despite my 73-year-old grey hair, I am a serial entrepreneur.  I am now looking at 16 boxes filled with 500 books about my Regiment The Scots Guards at Waterloo.
Vol-2 is programmed for 2022 plus the recovery of 34 Waterloo Medals, following a dishonest Courts-Martial.  As this volume needs a genealogical background for many of my Waterloo Heroes, (an amazing story of religious drunkards) I’m obliged to maintain my contacts with Ancestry.
So…, to reply to your question; yes, (lol) I’ll soon be renewing my subscription.

Ancestry also helps reduce my stress level.
Stay safe…  ;)

Just successfully used the link - thanks for this thread.    Didn't work until I logged in to Ancestry as someone mentioned.

Just for info, though its probably been covered lots.

I have used this link for a few years now.

My tried and tested method is to cancel the auto renew a while before the subscription is due to expire.

Once the subscription has expired my account automatically becomes a 'guest' account (which is standard).
As such I can still log in with my email and password, see any tree I have up there, but though I can search I can't view any records.

At that stage I remain logged in, click on the link from this thread.

and get the offer, click on that and it takes me to page where my user name and account info is auto filled in, enter card details, click to pay and job's a good 'un for another year.
