Pollie was registered March quarter 1895 - GRO give mother's maiden name as Pyarr
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Cant be mine as mother maiden name is definitely Parr and Clara is definitely Clara Annie Molyneux Johnson as she was named after the lady of the house where Florence Jessie was a servant in 1881.

Hi,

Two children baptized Winton, Worsley, Manchester - parents William Henry Johnson and Sarah Helen - mothers maiden name Edwards.

Mary - birth 26 Nov 1909 bap 9 Dec 1909
James - birth 26 March 1912 bap 10 April 1912

Fathers occupation Boatman - probably something on Bridgewater Canal which runs from Runcorn to Manchester.

Are they yours?

Alan

Hi Alan

I think they could well be.

William was indeed William Henry & the wifes name is spot on. Dates would fit for the 2nd marriage too.

The occupation as boatman may mean William has moved up in life as he was previously listed as a dock labourer.

My family do have a bit of history of working at Port Sunlight factory.....

Thank you again
Caroline

Hi Caroline,

I have found deaths of Mary Johnson (age 3) and James Johnson (age 1) in June Qtr 1913 at Barton upon Irwell (which includes Worsley)  - I am not certain they are the same children but it appears likely.

I wondered if you had been able to track the Johnson family post 1911? For example it appears Pollie remained in Runcorn, married Andrew J Gardner in 1913, had numerous children and died in 1946. If you need any information in this regard, please let us know.
