Emma Grace Parmeter b.1849 d.1919 NSW
« on: Saturday 13 March 21 23:17 GMT (UK) »
I am endeavouring to research a family history for our youngest grandchild.
I hope to help her with school project by showing her how to make a chart and have some interesting data about her paternal ancestors.

Would anyone be able to suggest an interesting way of engaging the process...not just births marriages and deaths !!
Her ability to draw and write story would be encouraged and we would be both learning.

how far back should we go ?
I have just begun trying to locate this Parmeter family.

Thank you for all suggestions.

How about try to use some interesting news stories about the family.

Here is one which lends itself to some drawing and conversation (Joseph the husband of Emma Grace, killing the snake, while his house burns down !) 1893

The items mentions a large family,. The births are easily found on NSW BMD.

Excellent Thank you,
Yes that is an interesting idea
and snakes are everywhere in the bushland where our young granddaughter lives now!

I can print this out and she can retell the story in her words...
