Kingston Blunt
« on: Sunday 14 March 21 18:59 GMT (UK) »
Hope somebody can guide in the right direction, I am looking for Joseph Guntrip who I believe was born about 1775 in Kingston Blount. He married Catherine Yates in 1797 in Thame, she died in 1851 in Kingston Stret. I cannot find either a birth or death for Joseph, can anyone tell me what district these birth and deaths would be registered in. I have sent for a death certificate for 1852 but it’s the wrong Joseph
Thanks in anticipation

Thame would be the registration district.

eg    GUNTRIP, CATHERINE       81

when was joseph last seen in census?
Was Catherine a wife or a widow on her death certificate?

is this him in Dorton? ? https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGX3-WR3

Have got Catherine’s death in 1851 so she won’t be on 1851 census but cannot find Joseph on it or either of them on 1841. Their children were all baptised in Aston Rowant but does Kingston Mount and Kingston Stret come under Aston Rowant?
I ordered the death certificate for the 1852 death age 76 but it wasn’t him and the other one will be too young. Trouble is we have so many transcription errors for the name Guntrip so thought I might be able to go through the birth and death records if I knew which authority they come under, on the disc I have. As Catherine died in Kingston Stret thought maybe Joseph would also have died there.

The certificate district is Brill (I think) and it refers to Dorton. Informant is Eliza Guntrip but I cannot fit her into the family. Is Dorton anywhere near Kingston Stret

This may help you with the association of Aston Rownant and Kingston Blount.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
