Elizabeth Anderson
« on: Sunday 14 March 21 19:55 GMT (UK) »
Good evening my dear researchers,

So recently I have been researching again. All I can say is thank God for Ancestry's 50% off in January.

So I went on the hunt for the Jenkins family.

I know Robert Jenkins (jnr) was born in 1798 in Lambeth the son of Robert (snr) and Elizabeth. So off I went and looked for Robert's marriage to Elizabeth and BINGO up they popped in 1795 in St George's Southwark.

Robert (snr) Jenkins married Elizabeth Anderson 22-Oct-1795.

Now I am looking for the next bit of info, their baptisms.

I managed locate Robert (snr) as Robert Joseph Jenkins. Looking through this one was the only one in the area that matched. 29th April 1775 St. Mary's, Lambeth. Son of Thomas and Ann.

So inspired I went on to look for Elizabeth Anderson.

Many in the Croydon area which in the 1700s was a bit far. There are some candidates closer the the right area:

1776 - Dau of Thomas & Sarah in St. George the Martyr, Southwark
1774 - A foundling.
1774 - Dau of Joseph & Mary in St John Horselydown, Bermondsey, Southwark

So my question is which is my Elizabeth?

Elizabeth and Robert's children were (if this helps):
Robert Jenkins
Jane Jenkins
Edward Hill Jenkins

Any help would be great.

Many thanks in advance.

Neil.

Just so that you know when you come to renew there is a thread on here with a link which has been giving us 50% off Ancestry subs for the past few years, no need to wait for offers.

Do you have this couple on census or had they both died before 1841.
Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Thanks :) I'll bear that in mind for next January.

I've looked on Ancestry but no Robery Jenkins in 1841.

Tried Robert Jenkin B. 1775 (broad) and Lambeth (broad) bit only 3 come up
Cornwall, Yorkshire and Wales.

Not in Surrey even which I find a little strange.
Same for Elizabeth.

From that I suspect they have died.
