Just thought I'd check all the children born to Frederick FARRER and Edith FITZJOHN, (on the GRO index)

Dec qtr 1846  Mary Ann Matilda   St George Hanover Square
Jun qtr 1848   Frederick                 Bodmin
Mar qtr 1850  Ann                          Watford Union    (possible death Mar qtr  1850 Watford)
Mar qtr 1851  Henry                       Watford Union
Sep qtr 1852  Helen                       Uxbridge Union
Dec qtr 1853  Alfred                       Uxbridge Union
Jun qtr 1855  John                         Uxbrdige Union
Jun qtr 1857  Unnamed male        Uxbridge Union  (possible death Jun qtr 1857  Uxbridge)
Mar qtr 1859  Ruth                         Uxbrdige Union
Sep qtr 1860  Agnes                      Uxbrdige Union
Mar qtr 1862  Martha                     Uxbridge Union
Jun qtr 1864  Jacob                        Uxbrdige Union
Jun qtr 1866  Isaac                         Uxbridge Union
Mar qtr 1869  Unnamed female      Uxbrdige Union

Though I can't see Edith born c1845 according to the 1851 census.

Thanks for those lookups!!
I had a look at census records after your previous post about Jacob and Isaac, but it's interesting to see that Matilda is really Mary Ann Matilda... and I didn't know about the unnamed female in 1869... and also I do wonder what Frederick and Edith were doing in Cornwall the year Fredrick jnr was born, as he's the only one born there. And I wonder what happened to Edith's birth registration?

Yes, interesting that they were in Cornwall.

Still can't find Martha in 1881 ...

Another newspaper item that may be of interest:

" UXBRIDGE, June 7. ...
John Haywood, aged 65, of Harefield, labourer,
was charged before T. Dagnall, Esq., with obscenely
exposing his person in a public thoroughfare in the
parish of Harefield, with intent to insult Edith
Farrer, Elizabeth Watson, and other females. The
prisoner, an old soldier, now in the receipt of 9s.
per week pension, insulted Elizabeth Watson, a
girl 14 years of age, several times in the afternoon
of the 28th of May, also Edith Farrer, a married
woman, residing near the prisoner's cottage. Mrs.
Farrer stated that he was the constant habit of
insulting female children in the manner above
named, and Watson also observed that she had been
so insulted many times before. He was taken into
custody by police-constable 102 T, who corroborated
the evidence given by the previous witnesses. He
was committed for three months to the House of
Correction under the Vagrant Acton the 29th ult."

Oh! That's got to be her doesn't it, making hats, from Harefield, living just down the road from her 114 Chapel St residence when she marries William Edward Hoar(e) 10 months later! I wonder if she ever made any of her husband's hats (I have been very busily tracing his line too)...

Thank you!
And that dirty old codger in your previous post, exposing himself to my ancestor like that. :-\

Thanks!
So far I believe his father Isaac Hoar (not sure when the 'e' was added) married a Caroline Holland around 1855. I've only been able to find William Edward b. 1858 and a younger brother Arthur William b. 1861 before Caroline dies in 1875, and Isaac remarries that same year (didn't waste much time!) to a younger Letty Bingham. She goes on to produce at least 7 more children, before Isaac ups and dies the same year his youngest, Victor, is born. Hope Letty had lots of help.

I haven't yet ascertained who Isaac's parents are, although in 1851 I found an Isaac as a grandson of a Martha Hoar, in Woodside, age 20, Dealer. In 1841 Census, I think it's Isaac in the household of a Thomas Welsh? Walsh? age 10, but not yet sure why he's there. In that same record are a Joseph and Martha Hoar aged 75 & 65 (ish) with a lad James Hoar age 13, just nearby.

I'm wondering if it's this same Martha who's Isaac's grandmother and whether James is a brother or a cousin... but haven't dug that far yet.
I also found a niece Doris Hoar in Letty's household in 1911, so Isaac must have had a brother, but haven't yet found who he was, nor Doris's mother...

I think you'll probably start a new thread on the HOARE family, but just to add another birth to Isaac and Caroline:

Mar qtr 1865  Sydney HOAR mmn HOLLAND  (Luton) - died Mar qtr 1865 (Luton)

And you're correct, there appear to be 7 children to Isaac and Lettie:

Mar qtr 1877  Gertie
Dec qtr 1878  Marion
Sep qtr 1880  Rose Ellen
Dec qtr 1882  Albert
Dec qtr 1884  Kate
Sep qtr 1887  Zilpah
Mar qtr 1893  Victor George

I haven't yet ascertained who Isaac's parents are

A possibility -
There is a baptism on 3 Oct 1830 at Caddington for an Isaac HOAR, mother Ann HOAR.

There is also a baptism for an Ann HOAR at Caddington on 11 Oct 1812, parents Joseph and Martha.

Would seem to fit with the 1841 and 1851 census you found.

There are a couple of James HOARs baptised in Caddington, one seems likely the grandson of Joseph and Martha (parents Thomas and Lucy), however he is with his parents in 1841. The one on the 1841 census with Jospeh and Martha was not born in county, so a bit difficult to trace. You probably need to find all Jospeh and Martha's children and see if any of them baptised a James outside Bedfordshire.
