Cotton Mills in Perthshire 1841

A female ancestor aged 70 is recorded in the 1841 census as a Cotton Winder at Kinnoul Causeway, Perth.  On the paged either side of this record are many families from infants through to the elderly with those of working age all involved in the cotton industry and all living at Kinnoul Causeway.  I noticed on one internet site that in 1838 there were seven cotton mills in Perth and I am trying to ascertain if there was actually one very close to Kinnoul Causeway and if the workers and their families were all supplied with housing - as was the case at the Stanley Cotton Mill.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Maudrine (Western Australia)

There were 14 textile mills on the river Ericht about mid 19th century, so Blairgowrie/Rattray, jute, flax & cotton.

Alternatively post office directories which would list mills.. and sometimes families usually housing was close to mills.. no buses then..

If Dundee Mill owners are an example they did not provide houses that much.. but cheap two story tenements were available but very poor quality with little water supply and lucky to have more than one or two rooms..

My wife's great x 3 grandparents worked in New Rattray Mills in 1851's  there was 15 in their household.. see attachment..
