Researching my gg grandfather who was on board HMS Briton in 1885 during the Mahdist War. He was awarded the Egypt Medal (Suakin) and much later in 1891 the Ashanti Medal for Witu/Vitu. Are there any websites or books I can buy that explain the navy's role in Suakin and also the Witu/Vitu Expedition?
