You could try uninstalling the printer drivers and then installing again, if you have not done that already. If that does not work I would contact HP themselves for their help.

Dave, I've been using the printer regularly since the Windows 10 upgrade without any problems (well not this one anyway!  :D) so I think it's unlikely to be that. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Crumblie, I thought someone might suggest installing, was hoping that wasn't going to be the answer, I've had to do it several times, it seems to be the only way to correct any problems. I seem to remember having problems connecting the printer back to WiFi last time but I think I created a document with instructions for myself, will have a dig around my laptop and see if I can find it. Will just have to bite the bullet!

drop the photo into a Word doc and then print?

Thanks KN, if this was a one-off where I wanted to print a picture I would do that but as I print them on a regular basis I need to resolve the problem.

As Dave said, it wasn't a scare story by the press! It was all over the Tech media too.

The resolution was to go to updates and uninstall last weeks update.
Dow/Dowe Norfolk and Suffolk

I wasn't doubting it, it's just that it's such a long time since the Windows 10 update, if that was the source of the problem wouldn't I have had problems before? I've printed umpteen pictures since then.  ???

I've had two updates so far this month...a substantial one at the beginning of the month which hit me as I shut down in the early hours, preventing me from turning off, and a minor update just a few days back, which I noticed at startup...lucky me!

NB May not be the same update times as other folk...I leave Windows Updates to be handled by my Bullguard Antivirus...

 After a Windows 10 Update, I always run the 'Trouble Shooter' from Control Panel. Quite frequently after running this, I receive the "Issues Found and Fixed" message.

The printing fault in the normal monthly patches (KB5000802, 9th March) was reportedly a Blue Screen Of Death when attempting to use some printers. There's no telling though what other effects there may have been.

That patch has now been replaced by KB5001567 (on 15th March), which is supposed to sort things.
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.
