ELDERS/STEELS
« on: Monday 15 March 21 19:46 GMT (UK) »
I've been searching out information on the Elder and Steel family that lived in Paisley at the latter part of 19th and early 20th Century. I have information about the father Reverend Andrew Elder minister of George Street UP Church, Paisley who lived in 'The Grange', Meikleriggs, Paisley. He had sons and daughters around 8 in total. John, James Clarke, both becoming ministers, Andrew, naval officer, Arthur, (who sadly committed suicide after injuring a policeman) and daughters, one being Elisa Boyd, my Great great Grandmother who married William Henry Donald Steel in 1904. William's father Was Reverend Richard Steel, perhaps the first Baptist Minister in Paisley in the 1880's.
