Battle of Waterloo
« on: Tuesday 16 March 21 02:03 GMT (UK) »
I have a William Allan, born in Falkirk in 1797 who served with The Duke of Wellington at this battle.
Where should I go to find his military record. I do not know the regiment.

If you search Battle of Waterloo on Rootschat there are number of threads.

On the Waterloo medal roll:

William Allan - Thomas Mylne's Company   (79th Foot)

William Allan -  William Bruce's Company     (79th Foot)

The one in Thomas Mylne's company was from Angus. I can't see any surviving records for the other one.

Sincere thanks and appreciation to both Mckha49 and Shunj   I think this will give me enough to work with for now.  My question is answered and complete.
