Great news.  :) :) :) :)

And the very last thing I need right now because I already have far too many things to do.  :(
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Thanks so much for posting this news!

In one of my previous posts: https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=817723.0
Forfarian suggested I check the Kirk Sessions for Dalkeith in 1835 to see if Jean Lamond was mentioned. I couldn't do that at the time (I'm in Australia) but today I was able to go straight to the case, which gave me all sorts of useful information about family relationships. There was no resolution in the Kirk Sessions but it became a Sheriff's Court Paternity case in 1837 by which time the alleged father had married and had two children. Looking forward to the time when those records come online :-)

Thank you for this.

I spent a couple of hours looking at parishes I have minor interest in and was not disappointed.

The nice thing about having these is you are not wasting a ton of credits on maybes; its there right in front of you before you buy.  And then there is the bucket of coins saved on parking.

I agree with DonM. I spent many hours over the wet weekend looking through New Abbey kirk sessions. Very fruitful and free! My eyes need some time to recover however.  :) The sister of my ancestor was summoned numerous times to be admonished and then pardoned for her illegitimate children - and now I know the names of the accused fathers.
