Hello Again ,I may have a update on the Sankey Family,I believe the Joseph ES Sankey we may be after was married  in 1911 in Malta ,he was stationed there as a machine gunner,Would any nice person on here have access to Find My Past so I could  find out who he married the ref was ARM 2 under marriages

He married Marriana Decesare . You would need to order the certificate from GRO to get other details.

Christine 53 ,thankyou so much for this info,I thought I was on the wrong track as it was only hearsay i will be able to tell my cousins now of this new information,I know joseph died in 1924 in birmingham area,looking at the rest of the tree's on Ancestry it would seem they were unaware of this marriage

Hello again ,update on Sankey tree,there is now a sister called Mary Ann Sankey born 1916 in Malta. I think that Marriana Decesare  is now Marriana  Curle her first husband died in 1924  as  there is a reference to her coming from Malta in 1928 same address given as one of her sons in West Ealing again in 1939 same address as one of her sons in plymouth the daughter also lived in the address in 1933

There were Sankey in Malta since 1832, I guess. And at least two other generations after that.
I have a list of early Sankey there if it can help.
