Immigration into New Zealand from U.K. early 1900s
« on: Thursday 18 March 21 14:49 GMT (UK) »
Hello Everyone,

I wonder if someone could kindly tell me if there are any websites detailing the people who emigrated from the U.K. into New Zealand in the early 1900s please?

I can find a particular couple leaving Liverpool in 1914 - but cannot find anything giving details of arrival into N.Z. I was hoping arrival details would provide more information about them at that particular time.

(I have found them on the NZ electoral rolls and also their deaths in NZ -- but just wanted arrival details if available).

Many thanks for reading this.

I did find an arrival, thank you so very much.

As I feared though it didn't really give any further information. I think I was hoping for the moon -- and the details would be similar to the Ellis Island arrivals in the USA.

It's taught me a lesson though -- always try Family Search!

My grateful thanks once again. (AND for the lesson!!)

No, not really, sometimes we can't see the jam jar sitting on the pantry shelf, just need another pair of eyes to remind us.  It is easy to do, that the obvious doesn't pop into our brain. :D

FindMyPast has passenger lists often with the list leaving the UK
FamilySearch usually has the list of arrivals

If you would like to post a name I can look on FindMyPast for you

https://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/newspapers

You may find their arrival on the above

Cheers Janette

Janette thank you so much.

I do have access to Find My Past actually. Since I first posted I have found some amazing information on the Papers Past site (what a brilliant resource that is!)

Also found the deaths of the couple in NZ -- and where they lived.

It's a 'mystery' case regarding something which happened in England actually, before they emigrated. It's not really my own query - I was trying to help someone else.

But thank you to everyone who has responded - I really do appreciate it.
